Out of This World: Gr. K-3
Week 2: July 14-17 $275

Great for outer space fans – a little astronomy, science fiction, and lots of imagination! Learn scientific facts and mythology about our solar system and constellations. Make a stargazer, balloon powered “moon rovers” and mini-universe in a bottle. Invent your very own planet, and make the aliens who live there! Design a rocket ship for an egg-astronaut, and watch volunteer firefighters “launch” it from the top of a fire engine ladder!

Up, Up and Away! : Gr. K-3
Week 3: July 21-24 $275

It's a bird...it's a plane... it's superhero camp! If you could have any special powers, what would they be? Invent your own secret superhero identity, choose your superpower, and make your costume accessories. Build a set of "action figures," design your secret lair, draw comics and comic book style art! Concoct a batch of kryptonite, and make up adventures with other young superheroes!

Walk Like An Egyptian: Gr. 2-5

Ancient history, archaeology, adventure and art, in one terrific class! Learn about life on the Nile, how to wrap a mummy and build a sarcophagus, make modern day papyrus, and how to write in hieroglyphics. Hear the stories of the Egyptian gods and goddesses, King Tut, Queen Nefertiti, and Cleopatra. Uncover buried treasures on a mock archaeological dig, and design a pyramid that’s fit for a king!

Wild Wild West: Gr. K-3

Explore the lives and legends of cowboys and pioneers on the western frontier through stories,
songs, art and games. Practice roping a steer and panning for gold, learn pioneer crafts and
build a miniature log cabin. Be inspired by Native American mythology and art, and create your own
dream catcher, sand paintings and other Native crafts.

Build, Build, Build!: Gr. 2-5

Create your own 3-dimensional masterpieces, while exploring the materials, techniques and tools that artists use to bring their ideas to life! Be introduced to contemporary masters, including Picasso, Joseph Cornell, Andy Goldsworthy, Louise Nevelson, and others. Build to your heart's content using plaster, wire, wood, foam, recyclables and found objects, art papers, a variety of air dry and modelling clays, and even balloons! We will also have many construction toys and activities to inspire young sculptors and architects alike. |

Ladies and gentlemen! Children of all ages! Come join us for loads of fun under the big top, with lots of art activities inspired by Alexander Calder’s “Circus,” Henri Matisse, and other master artists! Build your own miniature circus, complete with clowns and animals. Practice juggling, “tight rope walking” and other circus acts. Make your own carnival games, balloon sculptures, face paints, and let your imagination run wild!

Enter the magical world of wizards, princesses, elves and fairies, dragons and other imaginary beasts! Inspired by the old familiar and hilarious modern variations of children’s best-loved fairytales. Make fairytale character costume props and your own “crystal globe,” mix magical potions and create fanciful puppets. Construct elaborate bejeweled castles, and Thumbelina-style fairy homes.

A Pirate's Life for Me!: Gr. K-3

Ahoy, mates! Take to the high seas, and be a pirate for the week! Bring in your most raggedy spare clothes, and transform them into pirate garb with homemade hats and eye patches, and face paints. Make treasure maps and dig for buried treasure! Hear the stories, songs, and legends of famous pirates, buccaneers! Build and sail your own miniature pirate ship, decorate a treasure chest and fill it with pirate’s booty, and learn how to talk like a pirate!

Planet Earth: Gr. K-3

Geology, archaeology, and art, in one terrific class! Learn about, build, and erupt your own volcanoes. Dig for buried treasure on a mock archaeological dig. Make plaster cast "fossils", sandstone and clay sculptures, miniature oceans and terrariums, mud paintings, and more!

Make anything fancier with art supplies and your own creative ideas! Tie-dye tee shirts, socks, or other white cotton items. Decorate your favorite pair of jeans, backpack, hat, or sneakers. Design jewelry, key chains, and hair accessories with beads, ribbons, and Shrinky Dinks. Dress up furniture, wooden boxes, candles, ballpoint pens, and more with specialty paints and craft materials. We supply all art materials and tools, and a white tee shirt for tie-dye. You may supply any additional clothing items to be tie-dyed or decorated.

For children who love to whip up potions, concoctions, and other marvelous mixtures, invent
and build their own goofy gizmos, or test out ideas with science experiements. Some best-loved
activities from our year-long Crazy Concoctions, Science Magic, and Inventions classes are included,
along with projects designed exclusively to take advantage of the outdoors and warm weather, such as
fizz-popping paints, homemade sidewalk chalk and giant bubble brew.

Dive into the watery realm of all things aquatic, both real and imaginary. Build your own sand castle for keeps,
make wave bottles filled with miniature sea creatures, dig for buried treasures and cast sea life fossils.
Hear stories and myths of sea monsters, mermaids and lost undersea worlds.
Experiment with watercolors, use jeweler's magnifying loupes to slip into the heart of a seashell
and create your own expressions of life under the sea!

build your own theater and puppets, make face paints and fanciful masks, and play theater games. Hear tales of the many
